Email Marketing Strategy, Setup, and Automation

We began with a review of Grace Wellness Center’s current email marketing. After brainstorming ideas, we put together a strategy with two goals.

  • Setup the email system to provide a solid foundation for the future.
  • Automate responses to increase engagement and decrease the time spent managing it.


Our initial review found that there were 16 different lists in the email system. This made it difficult to send campaigns and to put automated processes in place. We worked together to determine the best way to organize the lists.

In the end, we consolidated the 16 lists into just 2 lists. The structure contains segments that are used to send subscribers the most relevant content. Most importantly, it is ready to support the future growth of their email marketing.


We also identified an opportunity to automate a manual process. Responses to forms on the website were being sent manually. The value of automating this quickly became apparent.

We began by mapping out the current flow and then worked together to create a new flow chart.


Then we dove in to begin the setup. This project involved integrating the website (using WordPress) with the email marketing (using MailChimp).

The information now flows automatically between the two systems. As soon as the website form is submitted the response email is sent through MailChimp.
